Five BSF Personnel Injured As Vehicle Overturns On Jammu-Srinagar Highway

RAMBAN/JAMMU, Sept 19: Five Border Security Force (BSF) personnel were injured after a vehicle carrying them overturned on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in Ramban district on Saturday, police officials said.

The BSF vehicle was part of a Jammu-bound convoy when the accident occurred near Chamba-Seri along the highway, officials said.

A rescue operation was launched immediately following the accident, and all five injured personnel were evacuated to a hospital for medical treatment.

The injured were identified as Sub-Inspector Ghar Singh, driver Shamim Ahmed and Constables Sunil Kumar, Parshtum Kumar and Chandan Yadhav.

Officials said the condition of driver Shamim Ahmed, a resident of Kupwara district in north Kashmir, was stated to be serious.

Further details regarding the circumstances leading to the accident were awaited.
