Former JPSC chairman L Khiangte arrested by CID amid JPSC-JSSC protests

RANCHI, Aug 10: The Jharkhand CID on Monday arrested former Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) chairman L Khiangte in connection with an alleged recruitment scam, officials said, amid ongoing protests by JPSC-JSSC aspirants in Ranchi.

The arrest comes as student groups demand a full and independent CBI investigation into the JSSC-CGL examination and broader reforms in the functioning of the JPSC and JSSC.

The CID, which is probing the alleged recruitment scam, has so far arrested 19 people. Khiangte had been questioned four times since July 28 before his arrest. (Agencies)
