NTA Declares UGC-NET June 2026 Results

New Delhi, Aug 29: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has declared the results of the UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) for June 2026, with more than 4,000 candidates qualifying for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) across 84 subjects.

The results were announced after the examination process was affected by errors detected in the question papers of English, Commerce and Sociology. Following a review by an expert committee, the NTA had ordered fresh examinations for candidates who appeared for the three papers.

The committee had identified factual, typographical, translation and language-related errors in the question papers, prompting the agency to issue a special notice regarding the affected subjects.

The NTA released the UGC-NET answer key on August 16, nearly two months after the examination. Later that day, it announced that fresh examinations for English, Commerce and Sociology would be conducted in September.

The re-examinations are scheduled for September 9 and 10. Candidates appearing for the fresh examinations will not be required to pay any additional examination fee.

The UGC-NET is conducted to determine eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship and appointment as Assistant Professor, as well as admission to PhD programmes in accordance with applicable norms. (Agencies)
