Suspected Pak Drones Spotted Along LoC In Rajouri, Search Op Launched

Rajouri/Jammu, Aug 28: Security forces launched a search operation along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district after suspected Pakistani drones were sighted in the Nowshera sector, officials said on Friday.

The suspected drones were seen flying over the Rumlidhara area around midnight on Thursday, following which alert troops opened fire, forcing the unmanned aerial vehicles to retreat towards the border, sources said.

The search operation was launched on Friday after unconfirmed reports of suspected movement of an infiltrator along the LoC in the Nowshera sector.

Security forces are carrying out a thorough sanitisation of the forward areas to detect any possible infiltration attempt and ensure the area remains secure, the sources said.

The operation involves intensified surveillance of vulnerable stretches along the LoC, with security forces and other agencies maintaining heightened vigilance in the border areas.

The latest incident comes amid continued security concerns over suspected drone activity along the Jammu region’s border belt. Earlier this year, similar suspected drone sightings were reported in forward areas of Rajouri and Samba districts, prompting security forces to conduct search and sanitisation operations.

Authorities remained alert to any possible movement across the LoC and continued monitoring the area closely. (Agencies)
