J&K Govt Approves ₹6.17 Cr Indoor Sports Complex in Ganderbal
by Northlines · NorthlinesSrinagar, Sept 18: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has accorded administrative approval for construction of a modern Multi-Purpose Indoor Sports Hall at Ganderbal at an estimated cost of ₹6.17 crore.
The proposed facility, measuring 60 metres by 40 metres, will be equipped with modern sporting amenities and is aimed at providing quality infrastructure to young athletes in the district.
The project is intended to create better training facilities for budding sportspersons, enabling them to hone their skills and pursue sporting excellence. It will also provide a dedicated platform for athletes to train and participate in various sporting activities under improved conditions.
The government said the initiative is aimed at nurturing local sporting talent and strengthening the sports ecosystem in Ganderbal. The indoor facility is expected to expand opportunities for athletes by providing modern infrastructure for training and development across different sporting disciplines.
The approval comes as part of efforts to improve sports infrastructure and encourage greater participation among youth in sporting activities across Jammu and Kashmir.
