Shiv Sena & Sant Samaj protest over attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh
by Northlines · NorthlinesJammu Tawi: In response to the ongoing attacks on Sanatanis and the arrest of Hindu leaders in Bangladesh, Shiv Sena (UBT) and Sant Samaj held a peaceful protest in Jammu on Thursday, raising their voices with the slogan “Chalo Bangladesh” and burning effigies of fundamentalists. The protesters also demanded that the Bangladesh government take immediate action to protect its Hindu citizens and called for the removal of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The protest took place in Indira Chowk, Jammu, under the leadership of Shiv Sena (UBT) state chief Manish Sahni and Swami Shri Rajeshwaranand Ji Maharaj, the head of the Shri Rajmata Jhandewalan Temple Group. Addressing the gathering, Swami Rajeshwaranand Ji Maharaj and Shiv Sena state chief Manish Sahni expressed deep concern over the continuous attacks and vandalism against Hindus and their religious places in Bangladesh. They highlighted the case of Chinmay Krishnan Das, president of Chittagong ISKCON Dham, who was arrested after peacefully presenting his demands and sent to jail, while the attackers and fundamentalists roamed free. Sahni also mentioned the violent response from Jamaat-e-Islami workers against Hindus protesting Das’ arrest, resulting in over 50 injuries. The protesters also appealed to the Human Rights Commission to intervene and take action. Prominent figures such as Ram Vohra, Meenakshi Bakshi, Jai Bharti, Vikas Bakshi, Raj Singh, Rohin Manwal, Geeta Lakhotra, Shahsipal, Mangu Ram, Dimple, and Jagbir Raj were also present at the protest, showing their solidarity with the cause.
