J&K: 2 Soldiers Killed in Accidental Blast Near LoC in Uri

Srinagar, June 10: Two Army personnel succumbed to critical injuries after an accidental explosion near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Kamalkote area of Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday evening.

Official sources said the soldiers were seriously injured in the blast and were immediately evacuated to the Army’s 92 Base Hospital in Srinagar for advanced treatment. Despite sustained medical efforts, both personnel later died.

The deceased were identified as Chavan Vikram Balakrishna, a resident of Airoli in Maharashtra, and Arjun Jadhav Rajindra, a resident of Shahpur in Karad tehsil of Satara district, Maharashtra.

Sources said the explosion occurred under accidental circumstances in a forward area along the LoC. Authorities have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated an investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the blast. (Agencies)
