Fiona Potts – Volunteer/Fundraiser of the Year

A VOLUNTEER who has dedicated years of her life to improving the lives of Islanders affected by neurological conditions has been nominated for the Volunteer/Fundraiser of the Year award.
Nominator Sophie Reid said Fiona Potts had given countless hours of her time to support people living with neurological conditions and their families, offering energy, passion and positivity entirely on a voluntary basis.
Before becoming vice-chair of The Sophie Reid Neurological Association, Mrs Potts served as chair of the Brain Tumour Charity, helping to raise awareness, provide support and secure vital funding.
Across both charities, she has helped raise tens of thousands of pounds through a wide range of creative fundraising initiatives.
Despite working full-time, Mrs Potts continues to organise events, support patients and their families, attend meetings and help shape the future of neurological support in Jersey.
Mrs Reid said Mrs Potts never sought recognition, instead believing that if she could make someone’s life a little easier “it’s worth every effort”.
She added that Mrs Potts’s dedication, compassion and determination had made a lasting difference to hundreds of lives, describing her as someone who “leads with kindness, motivates others through her enthusiasm and consistently goes above and beyond without expecting anything in return”.
Mrs Reid said Mrs Potts embodied “everything that volunteering should represent – selflessness, commitment and heart”, adding that the Island community was stronger because of her.
