YOGA, Pilates and DJs will be part of a series of free events due to be held at St Helier’s Waterfront this summer.

The Jersey Development Company has announced the return of the events for the third consecutive year.

From 2 June until 24 September, Islanders will can take part in free, weekly Pilates and yoga classes at Marina Gardens.

Marina Gardens will also feature weekly “relaxed lunchtime reading sessions” as part of the the Big Jersey Read at the Waterfront initiative, led by charity Every Child Our Future.

For a livelier option, after-work musical event Hola Friday is returning at the IFC2 site adjacent to Trenton Square on the Waterfront from 3 July to 21 August.

Also included as part of the JDC’s “community-focused” initiatives is the return of renowned Ibiza DJ Doctor Feelgood for an extended summer set on Friday 31 July.

JDC chief executive Lee Henry said: “We are delighted to bring these events back for a third year and to continue building on the fantastic community response we’ve seen since launching the programme.

“The outdoor areas of the Waterfront are becoming a real destination for Islanders and visitors during the summer months, whether people are looking to relax, enjoy wellness activities, meet friends during work, or simply spend time enjoying the outdoors.”
