Anita Vetier – Volunteer/Fundraiser of the Year

AN Islander who has hosted multiple fundraisers for local charities has been nominated for the Volunteer/ Fundraiser of the Year award.

Nominator Jan Booth said Anita Vetier has raised thousands of pounds through raffles, bingo nights and fundraising events over the years.

Since 2024, she has independently organised three retro fancy-dress fundraising events for Macmillan Cancer Support Jersey and also volunteers as the Easter Bunny and Father Christmas each year, handing out treats while collecting donations.

Mrs Vetier has also organised raffles and bingo evenings in aid of charities including the Special Baby Care Unit, the RNLI, Jersey Air Search, the Jersey Lifeboat Association and Macmillan Cancer Support Jersey.

Ms Booth, who has known Mrs Vetier for several years, said she “has a heart of gold”, adding that she “loves doing anything to help others in need”.
