The founder of a local home-care service has been nominated for the Community Champion of the Year award for creating a “compassionate” environment for both clients and staff.
Lynda Febers has been nominated by Nikki Clancy for showing “unwavering support” in her role as the founder of Aurum Home Care.
Ms Clancy explained that Ms Febers has a “unique ability” to recognise talent in people, giving them the confidence they need to “develop their skills”.
Her nominator described Ms Febers as an “inspiring leader” who always makes herself available, constantly checks in, and has built a team which reflects her own “caring and professional” values.
The Aurum Home Care founder has recently opened a specialist home care section, which Ms Clancy said was “thriving”.
“She really has her clients at the heart of everything she does,” she added. “She works on the floor with the clients and knows them personally. She upskills and coaches her team, and it really shows in the care that they give.
“I believe she needs recognition for her hard work.”
