Ghana forward Fatawu Issahaku backs Leicester City to bounce back after relegation blow

Ghana international Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has backed his Leicester City outfit to come back stronger after suffering relegation to English League One.

The former Premier League champions endured a frustrating and inconsistent campaign in the Championship, with missed opportunities and poor runs of form ultimately costing them their place in the division.

The enterprising winger’s performance overshadowed the club’s struggles this campaign, scoring nine goals and providing seven assists in the Championship.

However, the Ghanaian international has taken to social media to express his disappointment following the sides’ relegation.

“Appreciate all the support from the beginning of the season,” he wrote. “It’s disappointing to finish the season at this level. It’s not what we work for and it’s not good enough,” he posted on Instagram.

Meanwhile, Issahaku quickly turned his focus towards recovery and rebuilding, showing confidence that Leicester can respond positively to the setback.

“This club is amazing and I believe we’ll come back stronger,” he added.

Leicester’s drop to the third tier marks a significant setback for a club with recent Premier League history, but attention will now shift to restructuring and mounting an immediate push for promotion.
