Fred Pappoe praises Carlos Queiroz’s experience ahead of World Cup
· GhanaSoccernetFred Pappoe believes the appointment of Carlos Queiroz gives the Black Stars an experienced coach capable of handling the demands and pressure of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The former Ghana FA vice president said Queiroz’s international pedigree and leadership qualities make him the right choice to guide Ghana at the tournament in North America.
According to him, the Black Stars currently need a coach with confidence, authority and experience to restore belief within the national team setup after years of criticism and inconsistent performances.
"He has got the confidence himself to do what he thinks is right and over the years has proven that he can really do what is right," Pappoe said on Sporty FM.
He also believes Queiroz’s experience at both club and international level could help stabilise the team ahead of the tournament.
Queiroz was recently appointed Black Stars head coach on a short-term contract to lead Ghana to the World Cup following the departure of Otto Addo.
Ghana have been drawn in Group L alongside England, Croatia and Panama for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
