Speaking ahead of the match, Ogum highlighted the balance and discipline of the Algerian side while stressing the importance of concentration and efficiency from his team in key moments.
"We are expecting a very competitive and tactical game. Algeria are a good side with strong organisation both defensively and offensively. Opening matches are always difficult because every team wants to start well," he told CAFOnline.
He added that discipline and composure would be decisive factors in determining the outcome of the encounter.
"We must remain disciplined, focused and clinical when opportunities come. I believe it will be a good contest between two strong teams."
Ghana will be looking to start their U-17 AFCON campaign on a positive note as they aim to progress from a challenging Group D lineup.
The Black Starlets will also come up against Senegal and South Africa in their respective group games.
Ghana will be aiming not only for success at the AFCON but also for qualification to the FIFA U17 World Cup later this year.
