· GhanaSoccernetDreams FC defender Ebenezer Adade has received his first senior national team call-up after being named in Ghana’s squad for the upcoming international friendly against Mexico.
The 23-man squad, selected by new head coach Carlos Queiroz, features a blend of home-based talents and foreign-based players, alongside several U-23 prospects expected to play key roles in Ghana’s upcoming Olympic qualifiers.
Adade is among six locally based players included in the squad, highlighting the coach’s intent to assess domestic talent.
Midfielder Salim Adams, a standout performer for league leaders Medeama SC, headlines the home-based contingent, which also includes Ebenezer Abban of Heart of Lions.
The squad also welcomes the return of Majeed Ashimeru, who is back in contention after a lengthy injury layoff that limited his appearances at both club and international level. Forward Felix Afena-Gyan also makes his return, having last featured for the national team in May last year during a clash with Trinidad and Tobago national football team.
Other notable inclusions include Razak Simpson, Ibrahim Osman of Birmingham City, Abdul Aziz Issah from FC Barcelona B, and Ebenezer Annan of AS Saint-Étienne. Paul Reverson, who plays for Ajax, also earns a place in the squad.
Ghana are scheduled to travel for the friendly on May 22, 2026, in what will serve as an important test for the squad as preparations continue for 2026 FIFA World Cup.
