Ghanaian audiences are set to enjoy full live coverage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup after the government, supported by a growing fundraising campaign, secured broadcast rights for the global showpiece.

Minister for Sports and Recreation Kofi Adams confirmed the development during a ceremony marking a major financial boost to the Black Stars’ preparations.

The announcement came as GCB Bank presented a GH¢5 million donation to the national team’s fundraising initiative, underlining corporate backing for Ghana’s World Cup ambitions.

The Minister emphasised that collaborative efforts between the state and private stakeholders had been pivotal in ensuring that fans across the country will not miss a moment of the tournament.

“Through the support of government and fundraising efforts, we have been able to secure broadcast rights to telecast the World Cup matches live on some of the media stations,” Kofi Adams said.

The fundraising campaign, spearheaded by the government, is designed to mobilise resources for the Black Stars as they prepare for the expanded tournament.

With matches to be hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, Ghana is seeking both competitive readiness and strong national support.
