Danish footballer Laura Juul Hansen is set to bring Italian club Como 1907 to Ghana this month as part of a youth football development initiative aimed at creating opportunities for talented young players.

The programme is being organised through Hansen's non-profit organisation, Sport Creates Memories, which focuses on improving grassroots sports development across Africa.

This will be the second time Como 1907 has visited Ghana in partnership with the former Police Ladies player, continuing a collaboration designed to support young footballers and strengthen grassroots football structures.

Hansen, who founded Sport Creates Memories five years ago, said the project was inspired by the opportunities she enjoyed growing up in Denmark and her desire to help children in Ghana who face financial barriers to participating in sports.

She noted that many talented youngsters in Ghana are unable to access football opportunities because of costs associated with registration and participation, prompting her commitment to supporting grassroots development.

The visit by Como 1907 will give young Ghanaian players the chance to showcase their abilities in front of representatives from one of Italy's fastest-growing clubs. The Serie A side, managed by former Spain midfielder and World Cup winner Cesc Fàbregas, has gained recognition for its focus on youth development and talent identification.

Hansen revealed that the partnership with Como was established after discussions with club president Mirwan Suwarso, with the Italian club agreeing to support the initiative and its wider grassroots objectives.

The week-long programme will also include a dinner hosted by Italy's Ambassador to Ghana, Laura Ranalli.

ArthurLegacy CEO Oliver Arthur praised the initiative, describing it as an important project that can create opportunities for young Ghanaian footballers.

The Como 1907 delegation is expected to arrive in Ghana on June 6 for a series of activities focused on youth development and talent identification.

Sport Creates Memories currently supports more than 17,000 children across Ghana, Kenya and Côte d'Ivoire through its grassroots sports and development programmes.
