Mohammed Kudus bowed to family pressure to end partnership - Former agent
· GhanaSoccernetMohammed Kudus’ former representative has publicly attributed the end of their working relationship to influence from the player’s inner circle.
French agent Jennifer Mendelewitsch revealed in an interview that family pressure played a decisive role in bringing their partnership to a close.
The separation occurred just before Kudus completed his reported £55 million move from West Ham United to Tottenham Hotspur ahead of the 2025–2026 season.
Reflecting on the breakdown, Mendelewitsch suggested the decision was not entirely the player’s own.
The agent, who had overseen key stages of Kudus’ career progression, expressed disappointment at how events unfolded, hinting at broader consequences for the midfielder following the move.
Mendelewitsch also made reference to Tottenham’s struggles, suggesting the sporting context has added further complexity to Kudus’ situation.
“We were coming to the end of our term and so, as we always do, we asked ourselves, what do we do? Do we continue on our path together or not? I understood perfectly that his family was exerting pressure to get him to say no, and he submitted to it.
“Honestly, it’s a shame. He is the one who is being punished the most in this story. I made all these transfers until the last one.
“They - Tottenham Hotspurs - are flirting with relegation to the Championship; it’s the first time that has happened to him. Well, sorry, but you punished yourself. It’s a shame, but that’s life. It’s pretty crazy."
Mohammed Kudus has been out with an injury since the start of the year and is reportedly out of the 2026 World Cup.
Tottenham remain in the relegation zone with four games to the end of the season.
