Antoine Semenyo denied first English Premier League title as Bournemouth frustrate Man City

Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo’s dream of winning his first English Premier League title was shattered on Tuesday night after Manchester City drew 1-1 with AFC Bournemouth.

In what was the penultimate fixture of the 2025/26 league campaign, Manchester City needed to win to have a chance of claiming the league title on the final weekend.

Unfortunately, the match played at the Vitality Stadium did not go according to plan.

Bournemouth, also in need of the points to continue their push for European football, set up strong and led at halftime thanks to a strike from Eli Junior Kroupi in the 32nd minute.

Although Erling Haaland drew parity for Manchester City late in the second half, it could not inspire Pep Guardiola’s side to amass all three points.

Following the draw, Arsenal are now English Premier League champions ahead of the final matchday.

The result means Antoine Semenyo misses out on what would have been his first English Premier League title and a third trophy with Manchester City since joining from Bournemouth last winter.
