2026 World Cup Qualifiers: Ghana coach Otto Addo charges players to move on from draw with Chad
· GhanaSoccernetThe head coach of the Black Stars of Ghana, Otto Addo, has rallied his players to move on from their draw with Chad in the qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Speaking in a post-match interview after Chad held Ghana to a 1-1 draw on Thursday afternoon, the coach admitted that his team missed a good opportunity to extend their lead in Group I of the qualifiers.
While giving credit to Chad for making things difficult for the Black Stars, the coach urged his players to quickly move on and focus on their next match against Mali.
“To be honest, if you look at the goal attempts, the ball possession, the shots on the goal, the big chances, it's a missed opportunity. But this is football, like I said, we have to take it like that. From tomorrow on, we have to think about Mali, we have to forget about the game. I'm very, very sure that other countries which will come here will also have difficulties. This is how it is; we have to look forward and we have to beat Mali now,” Coach Otto Addo said as quoted on ghanafa.org.
The Black Stars are back in Ghana after the draw against Chad and have already commenced preparations for the upcoming encounter against Mali on Monday, September 8.
