Ghana midfielder Caleb Yirenkyi has earned another major recognition in Denmark after being nominated for the Danish Superliga Player of the Month award for May.

The talented youngster was shortlisted for the final monthly award of the 2025/26 season following a string of outstanding performances for FC Nordsjaelland during the closing stages of the campaign.

Yirenkyi has continued to impress with his versatility and maturity despite being deployed in an unfamiliar central defensive role in recent months.

Naturally a midfielder, the Ghanaian has adapted brilliantly and delivered several composed displays at the heart of defence for Nordsjaelland.

His consistency and influence have earned widespread praise in Denmark, where he is increasingly being recognised as one of the league’s brightest young talents.

The former Right to Dream Academy graduate has enjoyed a breakthrough season, becoming a key figure for Nordsjaelland with his intelligence on the ball, defensive awareness and ability to control games from deep positions.

Yirenkyi’s impressive form has also earned him nominations for both the Danish Superliga Young Player of the Season award and the overall Player of the Season honour, further highlighting his remarkable rise in Scandinavian football.

The Ghanaian has made 29 appearances this season, scoring two goals while providing several assists across all competitions.

He will compete for the May Player of the Month award alongside Silkeborg youngster Olti Hyseni and Nordsjælland teammate Henrik Dalsgaard.

With his stock continuing to soar in Europe, many Ghanaian football fans will be hopeful Yirenkyi can finish the season strongly by adding another individual accolade to what has already been a memorable campaign.
