I have never regretted coaching Asante Kotoko – Prosper Narteh Ogum

· GhanaSoccernet

Former Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has expressed deep pride in his time with the Porcupine Warriors, insisting that his spell in Kumasi remains one of the most fulfilling chapters of his coaching career.

Ogum, who currently manages the Black Starlets, has had two spells with the two-time CAF Champions League winners. During his first stint, he guided Kotoko to the 2021/2022 Ghana Premier League title before returning for another period between 2023 and 2025.

Speaking on the GFA Podcast hosted by Patrick Akoto, the former WAFA tactician was emphatic that he holds no regrets about his time at the club.

“I have never regretted coaching Asante Kotoko. It is like coaching the Brazilian national team; you can never have that kind of regret. I don’t regret it, and I have nothing against anyone—whether players, supporters, or management,” he said.

“To me, it is an honour, and it will continue to be an honour for me to coach Kotoko. People now address me as the former Kotoko coach, not even Ebusua Dwarfs or WAFA coach, and that is a pride I carry. I have no regrets.”

Ogum’s reflections underline the lasting prestige attached to managing Asante Kotoko. For him, the experience transcends results and tenure, standing instead as a defining honour in his coaching journey and a legacy he proudly carries.
