Asante Kotoko interim head coach Hamza Obeng has given an insight into the team’s preparations ahead of their crucial Ghana Premier League fixture against Dreams FC, revealing that progress is being made steadily on the training ground.

Speaking to AKSC Media, Obeng acknowledged the team’s recent struggles—only one win in their last five matches—but pointed to encouraging signs in training sessions. He emphasised that the focus is on tactical understanding, communication, and execution.

“We are looking at the phases of play. When I say phases of play, I am talking about communication in the game—one language we are to understand, which is the tactics to deploy,” Obeng explained.

He added that decision-making and technical execution are also improving. “Also deciding, looking at how they are trying to take whatever they are doing gradually, and also the execution of the decisions they are making, picking it up in terms of technique.”

The coach noted that the squad’s physical condition is also moving in the right direction. “Football fitness training is moving smoothly. So we are trying to build everything steadily, build a collective team, and achieve results.”

Kotoko will face a confident Dreams FC side who have recorded three wins, one draw, and just one defeat in their last five matches, making Saturday’s encounter a stern test for the struggling giants.
