'We will regroup and fight' – Nations FC vow to bounce back after relegation

Nations FC have turned their focus to redemption after their 2025/2026 Ghana Premier League campaign ended in relegation, promising to work tirelessly to bring the club back to where it belongs.

The Abrankese-based side finished 16th on the league table and closed out their season with a 1-0 win over Karela United at the Alhaji Aliu Mahama Stadium in Tamale, but the result was not enough to preserve their top-flight status.

Following the campaign, the club issued a statement on social media, taking full responsibility for the outcome.

"We take full responsibility for this outcome. Despite the effort and commitment shown, it was not enough to keep our place in the league, but this is not the end of our story. We will regroup, fight, and work tirelessly to bring Nations FC back to where it belongs," the club stated.

Attention now shifts to an opportunity for an immediate response, with Nations FC set to face Dreams FC in the MTN FA Cup final on Sunday, May 31, at the University of Ghana Stadium.

Victory would secure them a place in next season's CAF Confederation Cup, offering a route to continental football despite their domestic setback.

Dreams FC, former FA Cup winners, are targeting a second title, while Nations FC are aiming to cap a turbulent season with a first major trophy and a swift statement of intent.

For the relegated side, the FA Cup final represents a chance to salvage pride and secure a return to continental competition.
