Black Maidens name 22-player squad for Togo showdown in U17 World Cup qualifier

Head coach Joe Nana Adarkwa has unveiled a 22-player Black Maidens squad for Ghana’s crucial FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup qualifying fixture against Togo, assembling a balanced group as the team intensifies preparations for the decisive encounter in Lomé.

In goal, Rahima Abubakari Napari, Belinda Maku Aklie, and Josephine Nyanfule have been entrusted with guarding the posts, offering depth and competition in the position.

The defensive unit features seven players, including Hajara Adams, Rafia Osman, and Seraphina Esse Essenam, forming what is expected to be a disciplined backline capable of withstanding pressure away from home.

Hearts of Oak’s Seidatu Wahab headlines a technically sound midfield contingent that also includes Zeinab Shani and Daniela Abass.

The trio will be central to dictating tempo and linking play, with additional support from Benedicta Nketiah Danso and Mavis Yeboah.

In attack, the responsibility for goals rests on a five-player frontline led by Jessica Appiah Asamoah and Cynthia Obinsrewuo, alongside Gloria Ameaa Adomako, Linda Achiaa, and Priscilla Mensah.

The team has already arrived in Lomé and is camped at EL Doria Hotel in Baguida ahead of Sunday’s clash at Stade de Kégué, scheduled for 16:00 GMT.
