World Cup 2026: Croatia coach Zlatko Dalic admits group with Ghana 'definitely one of the toughest'

The 2018 runners-up and 2022 bronze medalist have been draw alongside European heavyweights England, four-time African champions Ghana and Central Americans Panama.
"Our group is definitely one of the toughest in the tournament," Dalic told the media.
Croatia arrived in the United States on Tuesday and immediately headed to their camp in Alexandria, Virginia to wrap up preparations for the tournament.
The Firemen will begin their tournament against England on June 17, before facing Panama and Ghana in their second and third games respectively.
"We open against England, a top-notch and very strong opponent. The first game is always crucial and it is important to start well. We want to give our maximum on the field, which we have shown at the last two World Cups. Croatia has the strength and quality to do great things and I sincerely hope that we will show that again," he added.
Meanwhile, the Black Stars left Virginia for Rhode Island on Wednesday evening to continue preparations ahead of their opener against Panama.
The Black Stars will travel to Toronto next week for the crucial encounter at Toronto Stadium.
