World Cup 2026: Albert Adomah advises Black Stars ahead of tournament
· GhanaSoccernetFormer Ghana international Albert Adomah has offered a word of caution and encouragement to the Black Stars as they prepare for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, urging the team to respect every opponent while believing in their own ability.
Speaking ahead of Ghana's opening Group L match against Panama on June 17, Adomah acknowledged that the group – which also includes England and Croatia – will be tough but insisted the team has what it takes to reach the knockout rounds.
"Ghana have a very good chance of progressing. We have talented players and plenty of options available. But it will come down to how the players show up, both mentally and physically," Adomah said.
The former winger warned against underestimating any side, particularly Panama, who are often viewed as the group's underdogs.
"As players, the team you think you should beat easily is often the one that produces its best performance against you. That is why Ghana must be very cautious and respect every opponent," he cautioned.
Adomah also stressed the importance of self-belief on the world stage.
"If the players believe they are the best team on the pitch, they can beat anybody. This is the World Cup. Once the tournament begins, rankings and seedings mean very little. Anyone can beat anyone," he concluded.
Ghana will open their campaign against Panama on June 17, followed by England on June 23 and Croatia on June 27.
