Ransford-Yeboah Konigsdorffer’s future at Hamburger SV is wide open as he approaches the end of his contract this summer.

His current deal runs out on June 30, 2026, and according to Hamburger Morgenpost there is still no clear direction, with the chances of him staying described as “50:50”. That uncertainty comes despite the fact that Königsdörffer has been one of HSV’s most reliable ever-presents this season.

The 24-year-old Ghanaian forward has featured in all 33 Bundesliga matches so far, more than any of his teammates, including high-profile names like Luka Vuskovic and Fabio Vieira. He enjoys maximum backing from head coach Merlin Polzin, who strongly advocated keeping him before the recent 3–2 win over Freiburg. Even so, the player’s camp is in no rush and is carefully considering its options.

Königsdörffer has long been open about his desire to play abroad and previously came close to joining OGC Nice, only for the move to collapse at the medical stage.

HSV accept his ambition and are not putting him under pressure, viewing his deliberations as a legitimate “strategic decision”. His side is now waiting to see which European clubs qualify for continental competitions or secure safety in their leagues.

Konigsdorffer is set to make his 34th appearance of the campaign away to Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday, and it may prove to be his final outing in an HSV shirt if the right offer from a top foreign league lands on the table.
