Thirty female coaches have been selected to take part in the Women’s Development Programme: Coach Education Scholarships for the CAF Licence C Coaching Course.

The initiative is a collaboration between FIFA and the Ghana Football Association through its Women’s Football Development Desk.

The programme forms part of efforts to strengthen women’s football in Ghana by increasing the number of qualified female coaches across the game.

Officials say the scholarship scheme aligns with the GFA’s Women’s Football Strategy, which focuses on building capacity, improving technical standards and creating more opportunities for women within football structures.

The selected coaches are expected to undergo training under the CAF Licence C framework, which provides foundational coaching education and equips participants with modern coaching methods.

The initiative is also seen as a step towards long-term development, ensuring that more women are represented in coaching roles at various levels of the game.

Participants are now set to begin the course, marking another move to support the growth and professionalisation of women’s football in Ghana.
