Asante Kotoko have praised defender Patrick Asiedu after he reported an alleged attempt to bribe him ahead of the final round of the 2025-2026 Ghana Premier League season, an incident now under club investigation.

The Porcupine Warriors ended the campaign on a disappointing note, falling 2-1 to Swedru All Blacks at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, a result that confirmed an eighth-place finish.

The victory proved crucial for All Blacks, who secured survival after a tense relegation battle.

In the build-up to the fixture, reports indicated that Asiedu had alerted the club to an alleged bribery approach.

Kotoko subsequently confirmed internal deliberations and opened an investigation into the matter following the conclusion of the season.

“The Board and Management Asante Kotoko Sporting Club…held a meeting with the players and technical team to discuss the team’s disappointing performance during the 2025-2026 season.”

The club also commended the defender’s conduct, stating:

“The Board and Management commend Patrick Asiedu for his professionalism, integrity and commitment to the values of Asante Kotoko by promptly bringing the allegations to the attention of the club” a section of the club’s statement read.

The club says further updates will be communicated after the conclusion of the probe into the alleged incident.
