2026 World Cup: Black Stars must be cautious and respect group opponents - Albert Adomah
· GhanaSoccernetFormer Ghana international Albert Adomah has cautioned Black Stars to respect and be cautious against group opponents ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Ghana, four-time African champions, will be making their fifth appearance at the tournament and have been drawn in Group L alongside England, Croatia and Panama.
Speaking to 3Sports, Adomah acknowledged the difficulty of the assignment but urged the team to approach it with belief rather than caution.
The former Aston Villa forward warned against complacency, stressing that so-called underdogs often rise to the occasion in major tournaments.
“As players, the team you think you should beat easily is often the one that produces its best performance against you," he said.
"That is why Ghana must be very cautious and respect every opponent," Adomah added.
Ghana will begin their World Cup campaign against Panama on June 17, before taking on England on June 23 and concluding their group matches against Croatia on June 27.
Meanwhile, the Black Stars will test their readiness in a friendly game against Mexico later this month before wrapping up their preparatory games against Wales on June 2.
