Leicester City winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has expressed a renewed sense of belief after being named the Sky Bet Championship Goal of the Month winner for February 2026.

The 22-year-old Ghanaian international secured the fan-voted accolade for his technically sublime half-volley during the Foxes' away clash against Birmingham City at St Andrew's.

Reflecting on the achievement, Fatawu emphasized that the recognition serves as fuel for his individual performance and the team’s collective goals.

“Winning this award gives me confidence and makes me want to do more for the team,” Fatawu told EFL media.

However, despite the personal glory, the winger remained grounded regarding Leicester's current league standing.

“It is hard to get too happy about it, though, as I want us to be in a better position than we are,” he added.

The award-winning strike showcased Fatawu’s elite technical ability, involving a sharp chest-control to settle a high clearance before unleashing an unstoppable volley.

It marks his second Goal of the Month trophy of a prolific 2025/26 campaign, following a similar honor in August.

Lead judge Don Goodman praised the effort, noting the winger's "exquisite timing" in lashing the ball home.

Fatawu, who has recorded 9 goals and 7 assists in 37 appearances this season, remains focused on the high stakes of the final run-in.
