Black Starlets head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has assured Ghanaians that the team will be fully prepared when the 2026 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations gets underway in Morocco.

The Black Starlets on Saturday played their final preparatory match in a narrow defeat to Mali, but the head coach remains optimistic about the team’s readiness for the competition.

Speaking after the match, Coach Ogum explained that the technical team’s main focus at this stage is improving the squad rather than concentrating solely on results.

“At this stage, results are secondary to preparation. We have identified a few areas to improve, and that is exactly why these matches are important. I am convinced the team will be ready when the tournament starts,” he said as quoted on ghanafa.org.

The former Asante Kotoko coach believes the lessons learned from the friendly games will help the team improve in key areas before the start of the tournament.

The Black Starlets are expected to continue fine-tuning preparations as they aim to make a strong impact at the continental championship.
