2025/26 Ghana Premier League: Week 33 Match Report - Bechem United 3-1 Asante Kotoko
· GhanaSoccernetBechem United secured their Ghana Premier League status with an impressive 3-1 victory over Asante Kotoko at the Nana Gyeabour Park on Sunday.
Heading into the penultimate game of the season knowing victory would guarantee survival, Bechem delivered a spirited performance to move clear of the relegation battle.
Augustine Okrah starred against his former club with a brilliant brace, while Richard Dwamena also got on the scoresheet to hand the home side a deserved victory.
Bechem made a strong start and took the lead in the 20th minute through Dwamena after piling early pressure on Kotoko.
The hosts continued to dominate and doubled their advantage four minutes later when Okrah found the net to punish a shaky Kotoko defence.
Okrah struck again in the 36th minute to complete his brace and put Bechem firmly in control before half-time.
Kotoko struggled to create clear opportunities throughout much of the contest despite entering the match looking to strengthen their top-four position.
The visitors improved after the break and eventually pulled one back in the 80th minute through Patrick Asiedu, but the comeback arrived too late to change the outcome.
The result confirms Bechem United’s place in next season’s Ghana Premier League after a tense campaign, while Kotoko’s hopes of finishing higher in the table suffered another setback.
