Berekum Chelsea defender Kofi Oxborn has credited determination and a fighting spirit for his side's hard-fought 2-1 victory over Ghana Premier League leaders Medeama SC.

The centre-back, who was named Man of the Match for his commanding performance, acknowledged that both teams put up a strong fight but insisted his side's hunger made the difference.

"The two teams played well. I thank God for winning the Man of the Match. In this game, we were very determined because we are not satisfied with our position in the league table," Oxborn said after the match.

The win gives Berekum Chelsea a crucial boost in their battle to avoid relegation, while Medeama's lead at the top was cut to just two points with three matches remaining.
