Nations FC join Hohoe United and Eleven Wonders in relegation from Ghana Premier League
· GhanaSoccernetNations FC have become the third and final club to be relegated from the Ghana Premier League following the conclusion of the 2025/26 season.
The club's fate was sealed despite a 1-0 victory over Karela United on the final day, as results elsewhere left them unable to escape the bottom three.
Nations join Hohoe United and Eleven Wonders in dropping to Ghana's second tier next season.
Hohoe United's relegation had already been confirmed earlier in the campaign after the club withdrew from the league with seven matches remaining. Their withdrawal resulted in the forfeiture of their remaining fixtures and brought an abrupt end to their brief stay in the top flight.
Eleven Wonders, meanwhile, endured a difficult campaign from start to finish. The club managed just 13 points from 34 matches and finished bottom of the table after winning only three games all season.
Their struggles were highlighted on the final day when they suffered an 8-3 defeat to Bibiani Gold Stars, with Samuel Attah Kumi scoring six goals in a remarkable display.
For Nations, relegation will be particularly painful after they fought until the final day to preserve their Premier League status. Consecutive defeats in the closing weeks of the season left them with little margin for error, and although they secured victory against Karela, it ultimately proved insufficient.
Despite their relegation, Nations still have the opportunity to end the season on a positive note when they face Dreams FC in the MTN FA Cup final. Victory would secure a place in next season's CAF Confederation Cup, meaning the club could compete in Africa while playing in Ghana's second tier.
