Kelvin Yeboah's brace powers Minnesota United comeback win over Columbus Crew
· GhanaSoccernetKelvin Yeboah, nephew of Ghana legend Tony Yeboah, delivered a sensational performance with a brace to inspire Minnesota United FC to a thrilling 3-2 comeback victory over Columbus Crew in the MLS on Sunday.
The Loons found themselves trailing by two goals after strikes from Taha Habroune and Hugo Picard had put the visitors in firm control.
Habroune opened the scoring in the 31st minute following a neat exchange with Max Arfsten, before Picard doubled the advantage with his first MLS goal.
However, Yeboah turned the game on its head with a quick-fire double in the second half.
The 24-year-old forward pulled one back just past the hour mark, showing great awareness and composure to finish from close range after timing his run perfectly between defenders.
Yeboah then restored parity minutes later, rising highest to head home from a well-delivered corner by Joaquin Pereyra in the 66th minute.
Minnesota completed the comeback late on to seal all three points in dramatic fashion, with Yeboah’s influence proving decisive.
The striker, who has previously played for clubs including Genoa and Augsburg, continues his fine form in the MLS, taking his tally to seven goals in 11 matches this season.
Born in Ghana but capped at youth level for Italy, Yeboah is steadily building a reputation as one of Minnesota’s key attacking assets since joining the club in 2024.
