Dreams FC coach Winfred Dormon targets first FA Cup title as head coach
· GhanaSoccernetDreams FC head coach Winfred Dormon says he is eager to guide the club to another MTN FA Cup triumph when they face Nations FC in the 2025-26 final on Sunday, May 31, at the University of Ghana Stadium.
The final presents Dreams FC with the chance to win the competition for the second time after previously lifting the trophy in the 2022-23 season.
Victory would also secure qualification to next season’s CAF Confederation Cup, the same competition in which Dreams FC made a remarkable run to the semi-finals after winning the FA Cup three years ago.
Dormon was part of the technical team during Dreams FC’s first FA Cup success, serving as assistant coach under Abdul Karim Zito.
Now leading the team as head coach, the former Dreams player hopes to win the title again, this time in charge of the dugout.
“We won it, the FA Cup, at Abrankese, and it was very intriguing. The dynamics are very different now, and I will be very happy to lead this group to win this competition,” Dormon said ahead of the final.
Dreams FC booked their place in the final after defeating Medeama in the semi-finals, while Nations FC reached the showpiece despite suffering relegation from the Ghana Premier League.
