John Yeboah capped a superb season with a decisive assist as Venezia beat Palermo to seal promotion to Serie A on the final day.

The Ecuadorian-Ghanaian attacker delivered a precise low cross just seconds after the restart, which Alioune Ndour Doumbia swept home in the 46th minute to break the deadlock at the Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo.

Venezia, already in control of top spot, managed the game intelligently, limiting Palermo’s threat while looking to strike in transition. Substitute Mattia Compagnon added a stoppage-time second, burying a late effort to spark wild celebrations among the home fans as the 2-0 win confirmed Venezia’s title-winning campaign.

Yeboah’s creativity once again underpinned Venezia’s attacking play, with this latest assist taking his 2025/26 league tally to 10 goals and 9 assists in 34 appearances.

Venezia finish the Serie B season on 82 points, boasting the division’s best attack and most clean sheets, underlining their dominance over 38 rounds. Having climbed back to Serie A, Venezia will now begin preparations for life in the top flight, where Yeboah’s versatility and end product will be central to their hopes of establishing themselves among Italy’s elite.
