Merlin Polzin wants Ransford Yeboah Konigsdorffer to stay at HSV
· GhanaSoccernetMerlin Polzin has backed Ransford Yeboah Konigsdorffer to remain at Hamburger SV beyond the summer as the club prepares for Sunday’s important clash against SC Freiburg.
The 24-year-old has been ever-present this season, featuring in every competitive game for HSV.
Polzin told the pre-match press conference that Konigsdorffer has developed enormously both on and off the pitch, and is now a key pillar of HSV’s system.
He highlighted the attacker’s tactical discipline, stressing that Konigsdorffer fulfils his defensive duties “one hundred percent”, which gives the team vital stability. The coach also linked HSV’s many counterattacking goals this season to the forward’s pace and transition play, describing his performances in the Bundesliga as simply “outstanding”.
Despite this “fantastic season”, Konigsdorffer’s future remains open, but Polzin was clear about his stance: “I will definitely advocate for this. Ransi and I are in clear communication. He knows what he has in us.”
With two league games left, the versatile attacker is firmly in Polzin’s plans, whether through the middle or out wide, as his movement and ability to create space are seen as crucial to HSV’s success.
