World Cup 2026: Ernest Nuamah and 13 players set for debut tournament

The Olympique Lyonnais forward, one of the best young talent in the world, will be joined by 13 others in Carlos Queiroz's squad for their debut World Cup.
The 26-man squad which was announced today, also features Derrick Luckassen, who broke into the team following injury to experienced centre-back Alexander Djiku.
Also making the squad is Christopher Bonsu Baah of Al Qadsiah, FC Nordsjaelland's Caleb Yienkyi and Czech-based Prince Adu-Kwabena.
Brandon Thomas-Asante, Augustine Boakye, Kojo Peprah Oppong, Jonas Adjetey, Jerome Opoku and Marvin Senaya are also going to the World Cup for the first time.
Goalkeepers Benjamin Asare and Joseph Anang complete the list of debutants.
Meanwhile, the team also includes several players who are making their second appearance while Jordan Ayew remains the only man set for a third World Cup.
The Black Stars will face Wales in a friendly on Tuesday as part of preparations to the World Cup before travelling to the United States.
Ghana have been drawn in Group L alongside 1966 winners England, 2018 runners-up Croatia and Central Americans Panama.
