Ajax goalkeeper Paul Reverson earns maiden Black Stars call-up for Mexico friendly
· GhanaSoccernetAjax youngster Paul Reverson has received his maiden Black Stars call-up for Ghana’s upcoming international friendly against Mexico later this month.
The young goalkeeper earns his first senior national team invitation after making steady progress in the Netherlands with Ajax.
Reverson came through the youth systems of Zeeburgia, Ajax and AFC before signing his first professional contract with Ajax in August 2024. The deal runs until 2027, with an option for a further two years.
He made his debut for Jong Ajax in November 2024 during a match against SBV Excelsior and was later included in the senior Ajax matchday squad for an Eredivisie fixture against NEC, although he is yet to make his first-team debut.
Born in the Netherlands to Ghanaian parents, Reverson is eligible to represent both countries at international level.
The goalkeeper made his debut for Ghana’s U-20 side in May 2025 during a friendly against Morocco and has now taken another major step in his international career with a first senior call-up.
Reverson is also the younger brother of footballer Damienus Reverson.
His inclusion forms part of coach Carlos Queiroz’s first Black Stars squad since taking charge ahead of the friendly against Mexico.
