Ghana secure consecutive wins in African Schools Football Championship

The Black Damsels of Ghana have essentially secured their place in the next round of the 2026 CAF African Schools Football Championship in Harare, Zimbabwe, following a pair of dominant performances in Group B on Monday.

The defending champions opened their campaign with a clinical display of offensive power, cruising to a 6-0 victory over Guinea.

They immediately followed that result with a hard-fought 2-1 win against Tanzania, maintaining a perfect record and positioning themselves at the top of the standings.

These back-to-back victories have put the Ghanaian side on the brink of semifinal qualification, with other results unknown.

The tournament, which features the best school-level talent from across the continent, offers a significant incentive, with winners in both the boys' and girls' categories receiving $300,000 to fund school development projects.

The Black Damsels' early success reinforces their status as tournament favourites and demonstrates the high level of youth football development currently being fostered in Ghana.

All eyes now turn to their concluding group stage match against Burkina Faso, scheduled for Tuesday, April 7, at 1:30 PM local time (11:30 AM GMT).
