Winfred Dormon targets first FA Cup title as Dreams FC head coach
· GhanaSoccernetDreams FC head coach Winfred Dormon has set his sights on leading the club to MTN FA Cup glory as he prepares for Sunday's final against Nations FC at the University of Ghana Stadium.
The showdown offers more than domestic silverware, with the winners securing a place in next season's CAF Confederation Cup.
Dreams FC know the value of that opportunity after their memorable run to the semifinals of the competition following their FA Cup triumph in the 2022-23 season.
The former Dreams FC player was part of the technical team that guided the club to its maiden FA Cup success under then-head coach Abdul Karim Zito.
Three years later, he has the chance to lift the trophy again, this time as the man in charge.
“We won it - the FA Cup - at Abrankese (Nations FC’s home venue) and it was very intriguing. The dynamics are very different now and I will be very happy to lead this group to win this competition,” Dormon said ahead of the final.
A victory would not only deliver Dreams FC another major domestic title but also return the Ghanaian club to continental competition, where they previously captured attention by reaching the semi-final.
