Ghana international Nathaniel Adjei was left buzzing after helping FC Lorient cruise to a dominant 4-0 victory over FC Metz in the French Ligue 1 on Sunday.

The Ghana Black Stars returnee delivered another assured performance at the heart of Lorient’s defense as the home side produced a dominant display to secure all three points in front of their fans.

Adjei looked composed throughout the encounter, helping his side keep a clean sheet while frustrating Metz’s attacking efforts.

The Orange lads took control of the game early and never looked back, with their attacking unit running riot to cap off a memorable afternoon in Ligue 1.

The convincing triumph further boosted the club’s confidence as they continue their push up the league table.

“I’m very happy with the performance from the team today,” Adjei said after the game,” Adjei said.

“We showed great intensity and togetherness from the first minute until the end.”

The versatile defender, who earned an impressive 7.3 rating against Metz, also praised his teammates for maintaining focus throughout the match.

“A result like this gives us a lot of confidence. We worked hard for each other and deserved the win,” he added.

The 23-year-old’s impressive form comes at the perfect time after his recent recall to the Ghana national football team squad ahead of the upcoming friendly against Mexico.

Adjei was handed his maiden call up into the Ghana senior national team during Ghana’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Niger but was forced off in the early minutes of the game due to an ankle injury.
