Medeama coach Ibrahim Tanko hails players for handling title race pressure
· GhanaSoccernetMedeama Sporting Club coach Ibrahim Tanko has commended his players for managing the intense pressure that comes with chasing the 2025-2026 Ghana Premier League title.
The Mauve and Yellow hold a two-point lead at the top of the standings over Bibiani Gold Stars with three games remaining in the season.
Medeama recently secured a crucial 1-0 away win over Basake Holy Stars, despite standout midfielder Salim Adams missing a penalty kick attempt, to maintain their position at the summit.
Speaking after the match, Tanko expressed his delight with how his side handled the high-stakes situation.
"We have to go till the end to be sure that we have won the league, so definitely, we are going to take the rest of the games seriously," Tanko said.
He revealed that constant communication with the squad has been key to keeping the players focused.
"We are all managing it very well because we have to be talking to them — the players — always, especially in this game. We had to have a lot of conversations with them because of the pressure, but I think they did very well," he added.
Medeama will now turn their attention to their next fixture, a home clash against Kpando Heart of Lions on Sunday, May 17, as they continue their push for the league title.
