Speaking on Asempa FM, Adams explained that the proximity of the tournament necessitated a coach will hit the ground running immediately.
To mitigate long-term risk while aiming for a deep run in the tournament, the Ministry and the Ghana Football Association opted for a flexible contractual arrangement. A
Adams confirmed that Queiroz has signed a short-term deal specifically tailored to the upcoming global showpiece.
"We needed a coach who is ready to take the team because we know the World Cup is just around the corner...whether local or foreign, the coach must be ready," Adams said.
"The condition we agreed was that we were going for a short-term contract, maximum four months, for the period of the World Cup, but the performance would determine any further agreement."
The 73-year-old Portuguese veteran, who replaces Otto Addo, is tasked with navigating a challenging Group L featuring England, Croatia, and Panama.
