CRYSTAL LAKE Season 2 Could Bring Back More Fan-Favorite FRIDAY THE 13TH Characters and More Jason Carnage

Crystal LakeSeason 2 will apparently bring even more familiar faces from the Friday the 13th franchise into the blood-soaked story.

The Peacock horror prequel takes place nearly a decade before the original Friday the 13th, but Kane already has plans to bring the series closer to the events of the 1980 slasher classic. That includes the return of some fan-favorite characters and a whole lot more of Jason doing what he does best.

Speaking with Bloody Disgusting, Kane shared his ideas for a potential second season, including his desire to unleash more of the terrifying Sackhead Jason.

“If we’re lucky enough to get a season two, I already sort of have a framework in my mind. I do know thematically what I want to touch on, which is a little bit different than part one. I do know that I want there to be a whole hell of a lot more of Sackhead Jason, I’ll tell you that. I want there to be a whole lot more carnage.”

That sounds like a pretty fun direction for the series, especially for fans who want to see Jason rack up a bigger body count. Kane also revealed that he has some recognizable franchise characters in mind who haven't appeared in the first season.

“But in terms of other characters that I want to touch on, there are, and there are people that we haven’t necessarily seen in the first season, but people who might be very well known from the franchise that I do want to dig into,” Kane continued.

He didn't reveal any names, but it's an interesting tease considering how the first season ended and how much Friday the 13th history the series still has to explore.

The Crystal Lake Season 1 finale delivered a particularly brutal moment when an adult Jason Voorhees, wearing his signature sack mask, returned to save his mother, Pamela Voorhees.

The confrontation began when Jason's father, Elias Wittering, and his men attempted to kidnap Pamela in the woods. Jason intervened and crushed Elias' skull with his bare hands before sparing his mother.

Crazy Ralph then opened fire on the monstrous, super-strong killer, but Jason escaped into the forest before Ralph could get another shot off.

Pamela's reaction was just as disturbing as the violence. Rather than being horrified by what her son had done, she burst into hysterical laughter and embraced the bloody outcome, declaring that the woods now belonged to her and Jason.

The finale also included a creepy campfire sequence featuring a young Steve Christy telling campers the legend of Jason Voorhees, calling back to Friday the 13th Part 2. As the story unfolded, a twig snapped, and the screen cut to black.

There's still plenty of room to explore how the nightmare at Camp Crystal Lake connects to the original films. Of course, Crystal Lake Season 2 hasn't officially been greenlit, so these ideas are still just plans Kane hopes to explore.

The first season is currently streaming on Peacock, and hopefully, the series gets another shot at bringing Jason Voorhees and his bloody family history back for more.
