Trailer for LION FIST Promises Hard-Hitting Martial Arts Action and a Fight for Family

If you're always on the lookout for martial arts movies packed with tournament fights, revenge, and plenty of bone-crunching action, then you might wanf to check out this teaser trailer for Lion Fist.

Capelight Pictures has unveiled the first look at the upcoming action thriller, and while its story follows a familiar path.

The film comes from German-Syrian filmmaker Taim M. Adams and is an international production that was filmed in English to reach audiences around the world. It stars Mathis Landwehr as Joe, a skilled martial artist whose life is turned upside down after serving four years in prison for a crime he didn't commit.

Joe took the fall for his wife during a drug bust, and once he's finally released, he discovers that his son is battling a life-threatening tumor that requires an expensive operation.

With time running out and no realistic way to raise the money, Joe's only shot is entering a brutal all-styles fighting tournament with a $100,000 prize waiting for the winner.

Before stepping into the arena, Joe trains under Grandmaster Wu, played by Yanlong Li, preparing to face an international lineup of dangerous fighters. Of course, winning won't simply come down to skill. Many of his opponents have no problem bending the rules if it gives them an advantage.

The movie also features Keith Cooke, Gary Daniels, Kurt McKinney, Brice Akuesson, and Julin Täubner, giving martial arts fans plenty of recognizable faces to look forward to.

The story definitely checks a lot of familiar martial arts movie boxes. There's an underdog hero, a desperate mission to save family, intense training, and a tournament filled with ruthless opponents.

It's territory fans have seen many times before, but that's not necessarily a bad thing when the action delivers. From this teaser, the choreography looks fast, impactful, and packed with the kind of hand-to-hand combat that could make Lion Fist an entertaining ride.

Capelight Pictures is set to release Lion Fist direct-to-VOD in the U.S. beginning on September 15, 2026.
