REACHER Spinoff NEAGLEY Renewed for Season 2 at Amazon After a Huge Prime Video Debut

Frances Neagley isn’t finished kicking ass on Prime Video. Amazon has officially renewed the Reacherspinoff Neagleyfor Season 2 following an impressive debut for the series.

I’ve been enjoying Neagley so far, so I’m happy to hear we’re getting another season! Maria Sten has done a great job taking a character who worked so well alongside Jack Reacher and proving she can carry her own series.

Neagley premiered on Prime Video on September 16, the same day the Reacher Season 4 finale dropped. According to Amazon, the first season pulled in 40 million viewers during its first 13 days of availability.

Amazon hasn’t explained exactly how it calculates that viewership figure, but the company says the series has become the fourth most-viewed original series debut in Prime Video history.

Sten reprises her role as Frances Neagley, Jack Reacher’s former Army protégé who now works as a private investigator. Season 1 throws her into a personal case after someone close to her dies under suspicious circumstances. The official logline reads, “When [Neagley] learns that a beloved friend from her past has been killed in a suspicious accident, she becomes hell-bent on justice.”

The character has always been a great part of the Reacher world, and the spinoff gives Sten more room to explore who Neagley is when Reacher isn’t the center of the story. So far, that approach has worked for me, and I’m interested to see where the writers take her once the current story wraps up.

Peter Friedlander, head of global television for Amazon MGM Studios, said of the renewal: “Audiences around the world have embraced Frances Neagley as a force all her own.

“Maria Sten delivers a commanding, layered performance that drives every episode, and Nick Santora and Nicholas Wootton have built a world that is both thrilling and compelling. We are excited to continue this story and explore what’s next for Neagley with our partners at Paramount Television Studios.”

Season 1 also stars Greyston Holt, Adeline Rudolph, Jasper Jones, Matthew Del Negro, and Damon Herriman, while Reacher star Alan Ritchson makes a guest appearance as Jack Reacher.

The renewal adds another chapter to Amazon’s growing Reacher franchise. It comes just days after news that the flagship series has already been renewed for Season 6, even as Season 5 remains in production.

Between Reacher continuing to crank out new seasons and Neagley now securing a second season of its own, Amazon clearly has plenty more planned for this corner of the action TV world. If Neagley keeps delivering the kind of tough, character-driven action we’ve gotten so far, I’m definitely on board for more.
